Hi, my name is Kelly Rappé and I just graduated from Hendrix College (in Conway, Arkansas) with a degree in Early Childhood Education. I have a passion for teaching and children. I discovered that the Peace Corps was my calling when I studied abroad in Ghana, West Africa and I taught a primary two (second grade) classroom. Teaching in a culturally diverse community can be challenging and empowering. I can’t wait to see where the Peace Corps takes me!
In my free time I love playing outside whether it be organized sports or backpacking. I played four years of field hockey and ran four years of track at Hendrix College. Each summer I worked for Larimer County Youth Conservation Corps building trails, cutting dead trees, and harvesting food. Before jetting off to the Peace Corps, I am working for the Student Conservation Association. I will be working in Georgia and California doing conservation work.
I find myself balancing my joys of the outdoors and educating children. Hopefully one day they will be combined.
